Counter height vs bar height, get this right

Measure from the floor to the underside of your counter. Counter-height stools (24-27" seat) suit standard 36" kitchen counters; bar-height stools (28-33" seat) suit a 40-42" home bar. Leave about 10-12" between the seat and the counter, and 6-10" between stools.

Swivel, backrest, and material

A 360° swivel makes getting in and out easy; a backrest adds support for longer sits. Choose easy-clean faux leather for busy kitchens, boucle or velvet for a softer look, or rattan for texture.

How many stools do I need?

Allow roughly 24" of counter width per stool. Most islands fit two or three, our sets of two make it easy to scale.
